Changeangel is a cryptocurrency swap platform that lets you instantly and cheaply swap cryptocurrencies between wallets and users. Here is are our Changeangel guide and review.
What is Changeangel?
Changeangel, found online at Changeangel.io, is a crypto to crypto, wallet to wallet, non-custodial, swap exchange service.
Launched in February 2019, the platform currently supports direct swaps for a small number of cryptocurrencies, including DGB, POT, GRS, DCR, LTC, BTC, ETH, BTG, and about a dozen others.
Changeangel was founded with the goal of being more than just a crypto exchange platform. In fact, Changeangel describes itself as “The Swap Exchange for Social Good”. Changeangel, according to the official website, is “on a mission to create sustainable ways to support non-ICO, open-source, decentralized blockchain development.” By using the platform, you’re contributing to major blockchain projects. To start, Changeangel is donating a portion of swap revenue to DigiByte, PotCoin, Groestl, Decred, and Litecoin to continue each blockchain’s development.
Making a swap with Changeangel is ridiculously easy. Just visit Changeangel.io, enter the amount of currency you wish to swap and the currency you wish to receive, then click ‘Exchange’. Then, you send money to the displayed address, and Changeangel will release your funds as soon as that money is received. That’s it.

This email is used to send transaction notifications, view transaction history, and manage other account settings. Alternatively, you can use your Digi ID/AntumID (although you still need an email address).
No Refunds: All swaps made through Changeangel are final, and no refunds are available.
Use Any Wallet: Changeangel accepts funds from any wallet. As long as your wallet can send funds to Changeangel’s displayed address, there’s no limit on which wallets you can use.
How Does Changeangel Work?
Changeangel works in a straightforward way. You visit Changeangel.io, choose the two cryptocurrencies you want to swap, then type in the amount you wish to swap.
Changeangel will instantly display the amount of cryptocurrency you will receive.
From there, click the ‘Exchange’ button. Then, Changeangel will display your destination address. You will need to send funds to this address for your Changeangel transaction to be completed.
Then, enter your receiving address. This is the address your funds will be sent to. If you are swapping your BTC for ETH, for example, then you will enter an ETH address. ETH will be released to this address as soon as Changeangel receives your BTC.
On the technical side of things, Changeangel uses AntumID / Digi-ID for sign-in /sign-up authentication. AntumID is powered by DigiByte’s blockchain, and you’ll need to download the DigiByte Blockchain wallet app to set up your ID.
Alternatively, you can avoid AntumID / Digi-ID altogether and just use an email address. Aside from that basic verification, you do not need to confirm your phone number, identity or other details with Changeangel before making a trade.
Changeangel requires an email address to send basic information about your transaction – like when the funds are released.
Changeangel is a non-custodial swap platform. You are sending money directly from your wallet to Changeangel, and then instantly receiving tokens from Changeangel in return. Changeangel never holds onto your funds or acts as a wallet.
Changeangel Pricing
Changeangel currently charges a swap fee of 0.25%.
However, swap fees can change regularly, and certain cryptocurrency pairs may be charged a higher swap fee based on liquidity and availability. All swap fees are transparently disclosed on the Changeangel page before you complete the transaction.
There is no fee for signing up for the platform.
How to Use Changeangel
Using Changeangel is straightforward. Here’s a step-by-step guide to making your first swap with Changeangel.
Step 1) Choose your Cryptocurrencies
Changeangel lets you swap one cryptocurrency for another. As of December 2019, Changeangel supports 23 cryptocurrencies. You can swap any of those 23 cryptocurrencies for any other cryptocurrency.
Under the ‘You Send’ box, enter the amount of cryptocurrency you want to send to Changeangel and the name of that cryptocurrency.
Under the ‘You Receive’ box, Changeangel will display the amount of crypto you can expect to receive. This number may vary slightly by the time you reach the final transaction page based on current market prices.
Click the green ‘Exchange’ button to move onto the next step. Changeangel will ask you to verify the cryptocurrencies and amounts.
Step 2) Enter Wallet Address
Next, you’ll need to enter your wallet address. In this case, we’re swapping LTC to DGB, which means you need to enter your DGB wallet address. This is the DigiByte wallet that your DGB will be sent to. If you are swapping to any other cryptocurrency, then you will need to enter the wallet address of that cryptocurrency.
Enter your address, then click ‘Next’.
Step 3) Sign Into Changeangel
If you haven’t already signed into Changeangel (or registered), then you will do so at this step. If you are an existing Changeangel swapper, then you can sign in using your email and password.
If you are new to Changeangel, then you can sign up either using AntumID/Digi-ID or by entering an email address.
AntumID/Digi-ID Sign In: Changeangel recommends using AntumID/Digi-ID, although you will need to download the DigiByte Blockchain wallet app, set it up, and scan the QR code to create your profile. After you scan the QR code, you will need to enter your email address in the popup box. Then, you’re signed in.
Email Address Sign-In: Enter your email address.
Step 4) Send Your Crypto
After signing in or registering, you’re ready for the final step of the Changeangel swap process. You will need to send your crypto to Changeangel’s displayed address.
In this example, we’re swapping LTC to DGB, which means you need to send your LTC to the “to address” shown in this step. You will also need the transaction ID from this page.
Due to price volatility, the exchange rates seen on this page are not fixed, final exchange rates: they’re only estimates. The faster you send your crypto, the closer your transaction should be to that exchange rate.
Your transaction will expire within 36 hours. If you have not sent your crypto to the displayed address within 36 hours, your transaction will be canceled.
As soon as the receiving wallet receives your LTC, your DGB will be released to the DGB wallet address you provided in step 2.
